2. Expanded Mental Health Coverage
More Services Covered: Medicare now includes therapy from licensed marriage and
family therapists, as well as mental health counselors.
Intensive Outpatient Programs: Expanded access to intensive outpatient care for mental
health needs.
3. Enhanced Caregiver Support
Training Programs: New caregiver training resources aim to help families better support
loved ones.
Respite Care for Hospice: Increased relief for caregivers providing care for terminally
ill family members.
4. Changes for U.S. Postal Workers
New Benefits Program: Starting January 1, 2025, postal employees, retirees, and
their families will transition to the Postal Service Health Benefits Program,
replacing the Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB) program.
5. Telehealth Adjustments
Expanded Access Until Year-End 2024: Telehealth services remain available nationwide,
including from home.
2025 Restrictions: Starting January 1, most telehealth services will require visits
to a rural medical facility, except for mental and behavioral health services,
which will remain accessible from home regardless of location.
